Good boys

I love working on Cub Scout stuff with Daniel. Daniel made brownies and mashed potatoes for our family tonight. Richard came home sick from work, so we fed him dinner in bed. Timothy kept him company.

Shannan on my mind

This is my brother Joe and his wife Shannan at the temple last week. They have adopted three children in the past year and a half or so. Their youngest baby, Ammon was sealed to them last week. Shannan has been sick for a long time and is losing a lot of weight. Gall bladder surgery hasn’t helped. She’s hospitalized today. I want to run to them and help. I hope I can. For now, I pray and wait for answers like everyone else who loves her.

Post Edit: 4/19/09 Shannan’s diagnosis is: GIARDIA!  At least now the doctors can treat it.

Agua Caliente Park Field Trip

Presenting our day at Agua Caliente Park, Friday, April 10th. We were in a group of about 40 people and it was a perfect day.
Here is Daniel looking at aquatic critters he and Paige collected.

Look at this perfect oasis in the desert! We stayed for a long time after classes, just enjoying the day. We came away with a few skinned knees from exploring, a true sign of a successful explore. Richard had the day off, so he came with us. Mark was still recovering from his illness, but he had fun.

There were a couple of Great Horned Owls in the trees. I love this photo that Richard took of Daniel.

The older kids went to one class, and the younger kids went to another. Timothy took careful notes.2009-04-10-Agua Caliente Park 064.jpg

Mark took notes, too.

A Musical

I was part of the Ten Virgins musical program for Relief Society Enrichment in March. Each of us sang a solo. Wow, these ladies were amazing! People generally said to me, “I didn’t know you could sing.” Well, I am not sure I can take any credit for that. I was trying to channel my sister Sarah’s talents and confidence all night.

I made my own costume from a $5 bed sheet set from Wal-Mart and using a children’s pattern I got free from a yard sale. The whole thing was a triumph. Truly. But who can I tell about it but my silly little blog?
