Timothy’s History Project

Timothy did this stop motion animation film one day for history class because he didn’t want to color another map. I thought it was a good compromise. We rigged up the ship with two magnets, one stuck to the ship and one hidden behind the map. Timothy inched the ship along its course and we took a lot of photos. We never got to make a movie of Ferdinand Magellan, but Timothy knows the route and the story and that’s all that matters. Richard put the photos to music for us.

Robin Hood

For today’s post Daniel brings you a night at the movies.  This is a stop-motion animation video that he created.  He has produced about a dozen of these little clips so far, and they are delightful.

The sound on this video is quite low, so turn up your speakers/headphones.  Notice the details such as the staff and hat floating down the river, the bubbles, and Robin Hood almost falling backwards but catching himself.  Enjoy.

Sunday Sounds

Click below and listen as you read:

How was your Sunday? How was church? Did you make a decision to be better about something? I decided that I need to focus on a topic as I read the scriptures. In my study of the Book of Mormon, I am going to catalog the tender mercies of the Lord, specifically how he imbues his children with power.

How was your Sunday dinner? Ours was nice. We had a salad and some fruit and Rice Krispies squares for dessert.

Did you think about someone far away? I did.

Did you get a nap? I didn’t, but that’s ok.

Are you ready for a new week? I think I am. We still have fresh groceries, clean laundry and sheets, and the school lists are made. We have a birthday in our family this week. Paige turns 14.

Sweet dreams.

A Good Night at the Ballpark

Daniel played a great baseball game the other night.  A few of the highlights:

  • His team won decisively (10-3 or something).
  • Daniel pitched the entire game (4 innings, 73 pitches!).
  • In the first inning he struck the first two batters out and the third batter was thrown out at first.
  • The second inning was a repeat of the first with two more strike outs and a quick out at first.
  • At bat, he hit a double and two singles 🙂 and struck out once 🙁

Would you like to see him in action?  See below for a video recap.
